Description
This is three course certificate is provided asynchronously. The instructor has taught in a thanatology program for over 7 years and is also a renown child and family Play Therapist.
The following learning outcomes are addressed throughout the three courses.
Course # 1 Introduction to Grief and Loss
Module 1: Discuss grief & loss: theories and models including the stages of grief.
Module 2: Define complex bereavement ,complicated grief and traumatic loss across the developmental life span.
Module 3: Review religious and burial practices & rituals of various faith groups to increase cultural understanding.
Course #2 The impact of grief and loss
Module 1: Identify the impact of grief on community
Module 2: Identify symptoms of complex bereavement ,complicated grief and traumatic loss across the developmental life span
Module 3: Identify counter transference issues and self-care strategies when providing grief and loss support
Course #3 Addressing the needs of grief and loss
Module 1: Identify grief needs of infants, children, teens, adults.
Module 2: Discuss various therapeutic interventions when addressing the grief experience across the developmental lifespan.
Module 3: Identify other community resources that can provide supports for families dealing with grief and loss.
